The structural problem

Your money is 47 days out. Ours is here tomorrow.

A practice books revenue the day it delivers care and collects it one to three months later. The American Academy of Family Physicians puts the healthy benchmark at 30 to 40 days in accounts receivable, and treats anything above 50 days as a warning sign. Federal rules give state Medicaid agencies 30 days to pay 90% of clean claims and 90 days to pay 99%. Medicare holds electronic claims for a 14-day payment floor before a contractor can release funds.

Veterinary and med-spa practices collect at the counter instead, but carry drug, device, and laser inventory running 15% to 25% of gross revenue. Home-health agencies run payroll weekly against a claim cycle of 30 to 90 days, with labor at 60% to 70% of revenue.

None of that is a solvency problem. It is a timing problem. MedStream Capital funds the gap.

Who actually gets funded. Practices with at least 6 months of operating history and $15,000 a month in deposits. In-house advances run $25,000 to $2,000,000. Practices under 24 months old are funded, but typically at $25,000 to $75,000.

Different criteria apply to SBA loans, term loans, and medical-claims factoring. Those are arranged through our bank and specialist partners and carry their own underwriting. SBA 7(a) through our partners generally requires a 680+ personal FICO, a 1.25× debt-service coverage ratio, three years of tax returns, and a 10% equity injection. Those thresholds are the partner bank's, not ours.

MedStream Capital is not a HIPAA covered entity and not a business associate. We underwrite on business financial records — bank statements, deposits, and the practice's own stated revenue. We do not request, receive, access, or store protected health information, and we do not connect to your EHR, practice management system, or clearinghouse.

Why MedStream

Direct lending, with the parts nobody publishes.

No FICO minimum. We read deposits.

A practice with a 580 personal score and $200,000 a month in clean deposits is a better file to us than a 760 score on $18,000 a month — and we price it that way.

Prepayment discount up to 30%

Pay off early and up to 30% of the remaining balance comes off. There is no prepayment penalty on any product MedStream Capital funds.

We do not stack

MedStream Capital will not fund over an undisclosed position. If you have an existing advance, tell us — we will either work around it or tell you no.

We will send you elsewhere

If you have 24 months of history, clean credit, and 90 days of patience, a partner term loan will beat an advance on cost. We say so before you sign, not after.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

What credit score do I need to get funding for my medical practice?

None. MedStream Capital has no FICO minimum on working capital or line of credit. We underwrite on your practice's bank deposits — average monthly deposits, deposit count, lowest daily balance, and negative days. SBA and term loans through our partner banks do have credit minimums, generally 680+ for SBA 7(a) and 600+ for a term loan.

How much can a dental or medical practice borrow?

$25,000 to $2,000,000 on MedStream Capital's in-house products. Partner SBA and term loans go to $5,000,000.

How fast is practice funding?

A decision the same business day on complete files received before 2:00 p.m. ET. Funds wire within 24 hours of a signed contract, and a same-day wire is available on files cleared before 11:00 a.m. ET.

What documents do you need?

Four months of business bank statements. That is it for MedStream Capital working capital and line of credit. No tax returns, no P&L, no patient records. Partner term loans and SBA files require tax returns because the partner bank requires them.

Does MedStream Capital see patient information?

No. MedStream Capital is not a HIPAA covered entity and not a business associate. We underwrite on business financial records — bank statements, deposits, and the practice's own stated revenue. We do not request, receive, access, or store protected health information. We do not connect to your EHR, your practice management system, or your clearinghouse. Section 1179 of the Social Security Act provides that HIPAA does not apply to an entity engaged in financial-institution activities, and reviewing a business's own bank statements for a credit decision is such an activity.

The one exception is medical-claims factoring, which requires claim-level detail that can constitute protected health information. MedStream Capital does not underwrite claims factoring in-house for exactly that reason — we route those files to a specialist partner operating under a Business Associate Agreement signed directly with your practice.

Can I get funding if I already have an existing loan or advance?

Sometimes, if it is disclosed. MedStream Capital does not fund over an undisclosed position, and we will find it in the bank statements. Tell us up front and we will either structure around it or consolidate it.

Is MedStream Capital a direct lender or a broker?

MedStream Capital is a direct lender. We underwrite and fund working capital and lines of credit ourselves. Term loans, SBA 7(a) loans, and medical-claims factoring are arranged through named bank, SBA, and specialist partners, and we identify the funding party to you before you sign anything.

Capital on your schedule, not the payer's.
