How MedStream Capital underwrites working capital
We read four months of business bank statements and look at five things: average monthly deposits, the number of deposits per month, the lowest daily balance, negative days, and whether there is an undisclosed advance already being debited. We do not pull your tax returns. We do not score you on personal FICO. A practice with a 580 personal score and $200,000 a month in clean deposits is a better file to us than a 760 score on $18,000 a month, and we price it that way.
What a $154,000 advance actually costs
A $154,000 advance over 12 months at our typical pricing for an established practice runs a total payback in the range of $185,000 to $200,000 — a total cost of capital of roughly $31,000 to $46,000. Pay it off at month six and the prepayment discount cuts up to 30% off the remaining balance. Your actual pricing is set at underwriting.
MedStream Capital working capital is repaid on a daily or weekly schedule tied to your deposit cycle, not a monthly balloon. Over a 12-month term that is roughly $3,700 a week or $770 a business day on a $154,000 advance, assuming 21 business days a month.
Who this product is wrong for
If your practice has 24 months of history, a 600+ personal score, and two years of clean returns, a partner term loan will beat MedStream Capital working capital on total cost. We will say so before you sign. If you need the money this week, nothing on our menu but working capital and a line of credit funds in 24 hours.

Who actually gets funded. Practices with at least 6 months of operating history and $15,000 a month in deposits. In-house advances run $25,000 to $2,000,000. Practices under 24 months old are funded, but typically at $25,000 to $75,000.
Different criteria apply to SBA loans, term loans, and medical-claims factoring. Those are arranged through our bank and specialist partners and carry their own underwriting. SBA 7(a) through our partners generally requires a 680+ personal FICO, a 1.25× debt-service coverage ratio, three years of tax returns, and a 10% equity injection. Those thresholds are the partner bank's, not ours.
MedStream Capital is not a HIPAA covered entity and not a business associate. We underwrite on business financial records — bank statements, deposits, and the practice's own stated revenue. We do not request, receive, access, or store protected health information, and we do not connect to your EHR, practice management system, or clearinghouse.
FAQ
Working capital, answered.
Can I get working capital for my practice with bad credit?
Yes. MedStream Capital has no minimum credit score on working capital. We underwrite on four months of business bank statements — average monthly deposits, deposit count, lowest daily balance, negative days, and whether an undisclosed advance is already being debited. A practice with a 580 personal score and $200,000 a month in clean deposits is a better file to us than a 760 score on $18,000 a month.
Does applying affect my personal credit score?
No. MedStream Capital runs a soft pull at application, which does not affect your personal credit score. Any hard pull happens only with separate written consent before funding.
What if I already have an advance or loan?
Tell us. MedStream Capital does not fund over an undisclosed position, and we will find it in the bank statements anyway. Disclosed, it is often workable — we either structure around it or consolidate it into one payment.
Is there a prepayment penalty on MedStream Capital working capital?
No. There is never a prepayment penalty on a MedStream Capital product. Paying off early earns a discount of up to 30% of the remaining balance.
Do you need to see patient records to approve working capital?
No. MedStream Capital reviews four months of business bank statements and nothing clinical. We do not request, receive, access, or store protected health information, and we do not connect to your EHR, practice management system, or clearinghouse.
Related: a line of credit if the need is recurring and short, SBA 7(a) if you are buying a practice, your practice type, or what we do and do not see.
Four months of statements. A decision today.
No tax returns, no P&L, no patient records. A soft pull that does not touch your personal score.
